South Burlington won the day and the season, as the Rebels laid claim to their second straight Division I cross-country championship this past Saturday at Thetford. Sidi Abdoulaye, who has led the pack for the Rebels throughout the season, was the number one men’s overall finisher, crossing the finish line and setting a new meet record with a blistering time of 16:33.8. Abdoulaye’s South Burlington teammates were hot on his heels, as Pat Hickey, Joseph Staples, Sean MacDonald, James Gregoire, Andy Tuttle, and Brandon Moran finished third, fifth, sixth, seventh, eleventh, and fifteenth, respectively. Congratulations to the South Burlington cross-country team and Coach Geoff Bennett on their second straight year as Division I state champions!
