City Hall improvements are nearly complete with the recent addition of exterior lighting and the city’s logo and signage. The renovation projects, which began last fall, included extensive stormwater improvements as well as hardscaping, a new sidewalk from the entrance of the main city office out to Dorset Street, and paving of the front and rear parking lots. Funding for the project came from FY14 contingency money and city office improvement funds that were approved as part of last year’s budget.
The building was power washed and painted last fall before the cold weather set in, and the South Burlington Rotary Club was behind efforts to revamp the front entrance. They donated the cost for a landscape architect to re-design the layout in front of the building and their plans for planting and landscaping will continue throughout the spring of 2015.
