Girls Lacrosse

The Wolves girls lacrosse team evened up their record going 1-1 at home last week. On Tuesday, April 10, the Wolves lost 10-7 to visiting CVU. Christina March led the way on offense with four goals, while Ainsley Hultgren (assist), Dakota Crane and Grace Hoehl also scored. Claire Phillips secured eight saves in the tight game.

Three days later, South Burlington bounced back with an 11-6 victory at home versus BFA-St. Albans. Three goals from Dakota Crane, and double tallies from Willow Yager, Joan Vera, and Caroline Desautels propelled the Wolves to the win. Claire Phillips had five stops. Their next game is against Rutland on April 20.

Boys Lacrosse

In a rematch of last year’s Division One championship game, CVU cruised to a 12-4 victory over South Burlington. Calvin Hultgren (assist), Cale DuBrul, Joe Bolkin and Nico Strempek scored the Wolves’ goals. Ryan Hockenbury had seven saves in the loss. There will be a rematch in South Burlington later in the season. The team hosts Everest Academy at SBHS on April 19.

Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team opened up their season in Essex on Wednesday, April 11 in cold, windy conditions. The defending state champions are young and should improve dramatically throughout the season. They fell to the Hornets 4-3.

Track & Field

In a dual meet competition held at SBHS on Thursday, April 12, both the boys and girls teams found themselves in the win column.

On the girls side, the team defeated Champlain Valley 235 to 220 and Montpelier 344 to 50.
