Thursday July 25, 2013

In a spirit of celebration, Cathedral Square recently held its 3rd Annual Volunteer Luncheon recognizing their much valued team of volunteers. During the first quarter of 2013 alone, 208 active volunteers put in 2,177 hours serving 948 residents across Chittenden and Franklin counties.

Cathedral Square volunteers come from all over the state, answering the call to help with projects and programs. Whether it’s a one time opportunity to assist a resident with moving or ongoing commitments such as transcribing a resident’s life story! Many of the volunteers in attendance voiced the sentiment that the benefit of volunteering is a mutual one, bringing as much pleasure to the giver as it does to the recipient.

Additional volunteers are always welcomed. If you are interested in volunteering your time and sharing your skills on behalf of Cathedral Square residents, please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Beth Alpert at 802-861-3297.

Cathedral Square is a 501(c)(3), whose mission is to develop, manage or own housing and provide community services that promote the health and well being of elders, low-income persons and persons with disabilities.
