Connor Devarney, a 2012 South Burlington High School (SBHS) graduate, is a senior at Western New England University (WNE) in Springfield, Massachusetts, and a member of the WNE football team known as the Golden Bears.

The team just finished a perfect season (10-0), and won the New England Football Conference (NEFC) title. WNE is ranked nineteenth in the nation for Division III football. In addition, the Golden Bears have been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Football Championship Tournament.

Devarney is a key member of the Golden Bears Defense. As a six-foot, 230-pound defensive lineman, Devarney recorded 46 total tackles and seven sacks this season, leading the team in sacks and ranking second in the entire NEFC in sacks. Devarney was recently named to the All-NEFC first team defensive unit and the 2015 New England Football Writers All New England Team for his efforts this season.

In addition to playing Dolphin football in South Burlington, Devarney was a SBHS football and lacrosse star, captain of both teams, and was a member of the 2012 SBHS Boy’s Lacrosse State Championship team.
