Two teams from the Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School (FHTMS) won at the 2016 Vermont State Spelling Competition held November 19. The state spelling competition is organized by teams on two grade levels: fifth/sixth and seventh/eighth. Regional competition winners compete to determine the state champions at each grade level. Both Tuttle winning teams were coached by FHTMS language arts teacher and student council advisor Edith Ainsley.
