Students from Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School and South Burlington High School will brave the icy waters of Lake Champlain in February to support Special Olympics Vermont. The 2015 Penguin Plunge on Saturday, February 7, marks the 20th anniversary of this highly anticipated, widely recognized winter event.

“I woke up the day after last year’s Plunge thinking ‘how can we get more students involved and have an even bigger impact?’” says Paul Yoon, Assistant Principal at FHTMS.

Already, 17 brave South Burlington students and a few parents have registered to take the Plunge. Their goal is to have a team of 125 Plungers by February 7. Each Plunger must raise a minimum of $150 and all Plungers will receive a Penguin Plunge hat and towel for their efforts and bravery. There are additional fundraising incentives for those who raise $500 or more.
