Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School recently presented the classic Broadway musical, The Wizard of Oz, on stage at South Burlington High School. More than 70 FHTMS students played on and off stage roles working for several months to bring to life the beloved L. Frank Baum story.
Audiences were “wowed” by the terrific performances of the 58-member cast and also by the incredible technical and visual elements: the realistic sets designed by FHTMS teacher David Bailey, beautiful artwork created for video projections by FHTMS parent Peg Palumbo, gorgeous lighting by lighting and sound designer Andy Pearson, and awesome video effects by FHTMS 6th grader Alex Escaja-Heiss.
Many additional South Burlington residents and businesses were involved in making this production a huge success, including artistic director Timothy Maynes, choreographer Kerstin Anderson (SBHS junior), and University Mall, the major sponsor of both FHTMS and SBHS Drama.
