Holly and Corey Machanic of South Burlington have put their love of food and web design to work for local restaurants by launching Flavorplate.com, a custom website platform designed specifically for food-related businesses. “Collectively, our team has extensive experience in website design, development and usability,” says Corey Machanic, Flavor Plate co-founder. “Combined with our past restaurant and food service careers, we’ve developed a solution specifically for the busy chef, manager and restaurateur.”
Corey has been designing and developing websites since 1998. Through his career he’s worked with brands such as Gillette, Rossignol, Merchants Bank, Fletcher Allen Health Care, GE Healthcare and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
“Flavor Plate is a complete website solution, which includes all the necessary components a restaurant needs to get up and running quickly: website hosting, a content manager for menus, online reservation and social media integration, and mobile,” explains Holly Machanic, Flavor Plate co-founder. “All of our websites are responsively designed, so they are optimized for mobile viewing across all screen sizes.” We have created an affordable and very user-friendly set of tools that puts the restaurateur in control.”
Flavor Plate’s business model distinguishes itself by focusing on forming strategic partnerships with businesses and organizations that support local food producers. Our challenge is how, as a website solution, can we most effectively impact the sustainable food movement. “As our business model evolves we would like to complete the farm-to-table-to-pixel circle,” Holly explains, “and directly benefit the food producers by giving them an affordable and dynamic tool to connect with consumers.”
