A Community Build is scheduled to start at 8 a.m., Saturday, November 25, to complete the final stage of the Rick Marcotte Central School Playground Project. The project was started in 2011 to provide a community playground that was fully accessible for all abilities and ages. The first phase of the play structure was completed in the fall of 2014, as pictured above. Funding for Phase Two of the project concluded in September.
Elizabeth Tolmie Walker, who has been at the helm of the project, is grateful for the generous support of the community, and invites neighbors to lend a hand in the project’s completion. Many hands are needed. In fact, the plan calls for shifts of 12 volunteers at a time, working together to complete the structure. Power drills and wheelbarrows for concrete are also needed. If interested, please contact Elizabeth at firstname.lastname@example.org. In case of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled to December 16. If you are unable to build but want to help in some way, there is a sign up for a Potluck meal.
