Sara Garvey is 19 and lives in South Burlington, Vermont.
A week before Sara’s eighteenth birthday, a social worker at FAHC referred her to Make-A-Wish Vermont. Sara had no problem deciding what her wish would be, to go to Hawaii to see where her parents got married! Sara describes Maui as “absolutely beautiful.” When asked what the favorite part of her wish was, she couldn’t seem to decide! “I especially enjoyed being greeted with leis! I had so much fun exploring Maui on land and on the ocean! My favorite part of the trip was the kayaking tour where we also got to go snorkeling. I got to swim up so close to a sea turtle; I could have reached out and touched it. The zip lining tour on the Haleakala Mountain was also very fun and exhilarating!”
Sara is headed to college this fall and we couldn’t be more excited for her!
