The girls basketball team continued its hot start to the season with a 53-31 victory over Mount Abraham on Tuesday, January 2. Emma MacDonough scored 31 points and Abigail Collins added eight as South Burlington pulled away from the Eagles in the second half.
On Saturday, a poor second quarter contributed to the Wolves first loss at the hands of St. Johnsbury. The final score was 53-25, and MacDonough led the team with 11 points. Their next game is January 13 versus BFA-St. Albans.
On Wednesday, January 3, the Wolves boys hockey team found success in a 4-3 victory over visiting Middlebury. Dylan LeClair scored a goal and two assists as teammates Ty Bernadette (two assists) and Jared Baron (one goal) also contributed. Ted Hopper had nine saves in the win. On Saturday, South Burlington dropped a tight 3-2 game to Essex. The team travels to Barre for a game against Spaulding on January 13.
On Wednesday, January third, the Wolves girls hockey team defeated Hartford 11-0 and continued their great start to the season. The team hosts Stowe in their next game on January 13.
