Kindred Connections is a program of the Vermont Cancer Survivor Network (VCSN) that offers one-to-one support to people who are currently dealing with cancer as a patient or caregiver is coming to Chittenden County and is seeking new members. The program is currently offered in Franklin, Orange and Washington Counties.
National and regional studies have shown that people who have experienced cancer can relate in a unique and positive way to others who are living with cancer.
VCSN is now recruiting cancer survivors and caregivers that want to give back to their community. We are looking for people who are good listeners, and are willing to offer their experience as needed.
Once accepted into the program, members are asked to make a one year time commitment and are required to attend a training program that will prepare them for their role. The initial trainings in Chittenden County are scheduled for September 14th and 21st. VCSN will provide training and continued support for Kindred Connection volunteers.
