Once again, South Burlington’s Dorset Park will be the starting point for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. The fight to end breast cancer starts with a single step. Take that step with just a few hours of your time at this non-competitive, 5-mile walk (with a 1-mile option) that will help save lives.
Making Strides is an opportunity for people of all ages to unite against a disease that affects 1 in 8 women. Some participants are recently diagnosed. Some are still in treatment. Some are years past their diagnoses. Many more are husbands, sisters, wives, parents, children, grandchildren, and friends of someone who has heard those words: “You have breast cancer.”
If you would like to walk in honor or memory of a loved one, and to raise awareness and funds to help the American Cancer Society to continue fighting the disease with cutting-edge research, information and services, and access to mammograms, visit www/makingstrideswalk.org/chittendencountyvt or contact Amy Deavitt at Amy.Deavitt@cancer.org or 802.872.6316.
