The Rebel’s season came to an end this past week as 7th seeded South Burlington fell to 2nd seeded Essex 3-1 in Wednesday’s quarterfinal matchup. The Hornets built a 3-0 lead, before South Burlington’s Elias Fleishman added the Rebels lone score in the third period. Travis Gay made 31 saves in the loss. South Burlington wraps up its season with a 6-11-2 record.
The 7th seeded Rebels wrapped up their season with a tough 7-0 playoff loss to 2nd seeded Middlebury. It was all Middlebury from the drop of the puck, as the 16-3-2 Tigers surged behind a hat-trick scoring performance from Julia Carone. Erin Church made 38 saves in goal for South Burlington. The Rebels finish the season with a 5-15-1 record.
6th seeded St. Johnsbury knocked off 11th seeded South Burlington 46-33 this past week. The Hilltoppers broke out to a 25-12 lead by halftime, carried on offense by a 19 point scoring effort from Kayla Matte. Elizabeth Khosravi and Emma MacDonough helped keep the Rebels in the game, with each player contributing 14 points in the game. South Burlington wraps up its season with a 9-12 record.
