Roddy O’Neil Cleary was presented the Catherine McAuley Award at the Mercy Connections annual May Luncheon. More than 400 community members were in attendance, including sponsors and supporters, as O’Neil Cleary was honored for her lifelong service as well as fostering the dignity of every person.

Each year the Board of Directors of Mercy Connections selects a person who exemplifies mercy values and the example of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. Bill West, Mercy Connections board member and long-time friend, introduced the award winner. A former Shelburne resident now living in South Burlington, O’Neil Cleary gave special thanks to the Mercy Connections participants who are striving for greater self-sufficiency in their lives.
