Flora Kathleen Su from South Burlington recently represented the University of Vermont at the 2013 National Collegiate Figure Skating Competition.  One of a five member team, she traveled to De Pere, Wisconsin (near Green Bay) to compete in the multi-day event. Skating in the Junior Ladies Division, Ms. Su won the Junior Ladies Division Short Program, and won the overall Silver Medal in the division.

Ms. Su is an accomplished figure skater who has received Figure Skating Scholarships from the U.S. Figure Skating Association in 2011, 2012, and 2013. She maintains a rigorous practice schedule, skating 2-3 hours every day, 6 days a week, to keep up with her training demands.

When she is not skating, Ms Su has a busy academic schedule at UVM where she is a full time student majoring in Engineering, and is a member of the UVM Academic Support Program tutoring students in Math, Engineering, and Physics.

Ms. Su is the daughter of Kathleen Liang who is a professor in the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at UVM.
