Thursday March 07, 2013

Tiffany Sarandis, Colleen Christman, Carrie Premsagar and Alaina Knowles are just a few of the over 100 vendors who will be selling their crafts at the 8th Annual beCAUSE Craft Show at St. Michael’s College on March 9th.

The beCAUSE Craft Show is not like any other you have ever experienced! It was created so that our local community could reach out and help many organizations that are in need through the efforts of one event, while supporting the business of local vendors.
•  This is Colleen’s 5th year participating in the show.  She will be selling jewelry as well as cake/cookie and bread mixes.  Colleen is a local childcare provider and the face of the South Burlington Family Center, which offers weekly playgroups for children 0-5 years old, early literacy programs, Welcome Baby and pre-kindergarten transition programs.  Colleen will be donating to the Family Center this year.
•  Tiffany’s one of a kind art includes faux taxidermy and hand made jewelry.  She will be selling her work to support the Vermont Respite House to honor those who provide loving hospice care.
•  Carrie is a first time vendor selling hand made pillows and aprons to support her foundation, The Carrie Premsagar Foundation is dedicated to meeting the needs of families dealing with cancer and other life threatening diseases by providing education, financial assistance, teaching advocacy, and funding research.
• Alaina, age 14, is a local artist who is a familiar face at the beCAUSE Craft Show and around town!  Alaina is a freshman at SBHS and will be selling her mosaic greeting cards to support the Committee on Temporary Shelter.

March 9th will mark the 8th year the show has run and it just keeps growing. The unique quality about beCAUSE is that every purchase made at the show directly supports a charity or non-profit organization. The show has raised well over $50,000 collectively in the past 7 years and this year promises to be even more successful, with more vendors attending. There will be over 100 Vermont handcrafters selling their wares, and all of them have committed to donating 50%-100% of their profits to a charity of their choice.

The admission price of the show is $3 and will be donated directly the Vermont Foodbank. Come support this grassroots effort to create global change by supporting local vendors. Be active in your community and support local Vermont businesses by attending the beCAUSE craft show.

This is a day filled with joy and generosity...please come and bring your friends. You will be so happy you did! For more information see or find it on Facebook.
