The day before the Operation Fire Cuffs delivery, the South Burlington Fire Department (SBFD) picked up toy donations at Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School. According to SBFD Lt. Micah Genzlinger, “This is the second year that Greg Wolf and his team of students has been collecting toys and once again they did an amazing job.” Operation Fire Cuffs is a joint venture of the SBFD and the South Burlington Career Firefighters Association along with the Vermont State Police, Burlington Fire Department, and multiple other public safety agencies. The SBFD reports that this year’s Operation Fire Cuffs was a huge success. December 16, Santa delivered an abundance of toys and gifts to the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. Lt. Genzlinger adds, “I think we ended up with 13 different agencies working on the campaign . . . we filled three emergency trucks with all the toys.”
