Thursday April 25, 2013

Organize your co-workers, friends, your scouting troop, your clubs, and your neighbors and get some fresh air outside while getting to know your community better and helping to keep our City and open spaces clean!

The South Burlington Land Trust (SBLT) is again organizing Green Up Day in South Burlington this year to ensure the continued commitment to the beautification of our community.  Green Up Day’s mission is to promote the stewardship of our State’s natural landscape and waterways and the livability of our communities by involving people in Green Up Day and raising public awareness about the benefits of a litter free environment.

South Burlington has a central bag pickup and trash drop-off point for ALL Green Up Day collections at the city offices at 575 Dorset Street. There will be prizes given by the SBLT for the most trash collected and for the most unusual piece of trash collected and possibly additional prizes. There will be no roadside pickup and all trash must be brought to City Hall on Saturday, May 4 between 8 am and 2pm.

Drop-off Location is at the City of South Burlington offices on Dorset Street.  If you live in South Burlington and you are a part of a group, neighborhood association, or business that would like to take on a specific area, let us know at mittag.michael@gmail.com  or call 802 865 2592.
