Rice Memorial High School (RMHS) started the academic year with their new principal, Sister Laura Della Santa of South Burlington. Formerly the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington, Della Santa has a strong background in Catholic school administration with over 43 years within the school system. A native Vermonter, she returned to her home state from the Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire, where she held the position of Principal of Saint Joseph Regional School in Keene for over 10 years. Della Santa also served as President of Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia; principal, assistant principal and teacher at Mater Christi School from 1984 to 2000; and as a public school teacher in Milton for 13 years.
Also joining RMHS are Corinna Gwen Moser and Elisabetta Anelli from South Burlington. Moser who has 10 years of classroom experience, will be teaching biology and physical science. She holds a master’s degree in education with a concentration on curriculum and instruction and participates in a variety of volunteer activities including the Junior League of Champlain Valley.
Anelli joins RMHS as their Director of Campus Ministry. Anelli recently served as the campus minister at the Catholic Center at the University of Vermont and is a graduate of UVM. In addition, she worked as the assistant to the director of religious education at St. John Vianney Parish from 2013 to 2014.
Also joining the staff at RMHS are Erin Farmer Tinti, Patrick Welsch, and Emily Rivers.
