Friday, Sept. 9th, 4–10 p.m., SBHS Athletic Fields

City & School District Celebration

The City of South Burlington and the South Burlington School District will celebrate the beginning of a new school year on Friday, September 9, from 4 until 10 p.m. All residents are invited for an evening of fun and camaraderie.

Events will be held between the football field and the F. H. Tuttle Middle School/South Burlington High School (SBHS) parking lot. Two athletic team home openers are on the agenda.  At 4 p.m., the SBHS field hockey team will host their inaugural home game against Champlain Valley Union, and, at 7 p.m., the SBHS football team will play their initial home game against Mount Anthony Union High School. Come to root for the Rebels!

South Burlington municipal departments will have police cruisers, fire trucks, and other vehicles on hand for demonstration and explanation.  Representatives from the Community Library, Recreation Department, City Clerk’s office, Fire Department, Police Department, and other municipal departments are expected to take part in the evening celebration.

Thanks to the generosity of G.W. Savage Corporation, the community event will be capped off with a fireworks display immediately following the football game, estimated to be between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m.
