The fall semester of the South Burlington Community Chorus (SBCC) begins Tuesday, September 13, at South Burlington High School (SBHS). The chorus rehearses at SBHS on Dorset Street every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a winter concert currently planned for December 3. Registration is available online at www.sbchorusvt.org or in the lobby of SBHS beginning at 6:15 p.m. the first night of practice, September 13. All who are interested are invited to attend.
The SBCC winter concert program will include selections from “Frostiana,” the classic Randall Thompson composition of Robert Frost’s poetry, “Earth Song” by Frank Ticheli, and “The Road Home” by Stephen Paulu, among other exciting pieces.
The SBCC is a non-auditioned chorus open to both residents and non-residents. The only requirements include singers be able to match pitch with fellow singers and be committed to attend rehearsals. SBCC strives to offer a high quality, live musical experience at an affordable cost to the community. The first two rehearsals are free. SBCC is funded in part by the City of South Burlington Recreation and Parks Department. For more information about the chorus and dues, visit www.sbchorusvt.org or call 802-846-4108.
