The SB Vermontivate team with 69 players and 217,384 points kept playing to win right up until the end of the game midnight Saturday. Members of the team were on the website chatting and messaging each other and players from other towns throughout the evening.

As our final team bonus challenge the SB team held a very successful food drive at Green Up Day Saturday May 3, collecting  over 125 pounds of food for the Chittenden County Food Shelf. Thank you to everyone who dropped off an item!
Even though the game has ended for this year, the SB Vermontivate team is planning to stay connected and continue to work together and support each other and our town as we work towards sustainability and what that means for each of us. We would love to have you join us. If you are interested in networking with your neighbors drop me an email at Kmckenny@hotmail.com

Throughout the state, 704 Vermontivate players completed 4,662 challenges around the issues of energy conservation, food sustainability, transportation, capital and the future. There were also 8 schools playing this year as well and the challenge responses from the kids were amazing!

What else did we win… Vermontivate’s commitment to help our team achieve a significant and inspiring impact to improve sustainability in our community within one year.

What does that look like? Vermontivate!  promotion and marketing assets to help you engage and activate the support you’ll need. Our friends and allies with great ideas and connections to all sorts of handy resources. Our expertise to help you set a goal that is Vermontivacious.

The Vermontivate website will continue to be available this year after the game and has a wealth of resources about all the sustainability issues, as well as a host of challenge responses to inspire you. It is also a place (as one player expressed) to be soothed and supported on the challenging work ahead of us. The collaboration and goodwill throughout the game —across the town teams and schools—was infectious. Working together within the competition to support each other as one person, one town, one state at a time we all work together to make a difference for the great big planet we share.
