The Luxton-Jones Gallery, the oldest Fine Arts and Framing Gallery in Chittenden County, will celebrate 25 years in Shelburne with a new and exciting Exhibition titled “Impressions of the Four Seasons.” The exhibit introduces the paintings of award-winning artist Susan Bull Riley, of South Burlington.

Bull Riley is a native Vermonter who grew up in South Burlington and recently lived and worked in southern Vermont for 4 years. She spent the last 10 months painting the Virginia landscape, but is glad to be back home to the landscape and people she loves best. She is widely recognized for both her exquisite botanical watercolors and her luminous landscapes in both oil and watercolor. She brings careful observation of the natural world and richly observed light conditions into both forms.
Bull Riley has received the Garnet Award at the Adirondack Exhibition of American Watercolors, and a purchase award at the New York State Museum for her contributions to the internationally juried biennial exhibition entitled “Focus on Nature”. She paints birds with the same observed care and attention to form that she brings to her botanical work. When Bull Riley isn’t painting, she sings and plays her flute; she is a classically trained musician.

The Exhibit opens on Saturday, October 1, with an Anniversary Celebration from 2 to 7 pm, where artists will be present and refreshments will be served and the public is invited.  The Exhibit runs through November 30th and a portion of the sales during this exhibit will be donated to the Humane Society of Chittenden County located in South Burlington.

The Luxton-Jones Gallery is located at 5955 Shelburne Road in Shelburne, directly across from the entrance to The Shelburne Museum.

The Gallery welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 to 5:30 pm as well as by appointment, or by chance.  For more information about the Reception and the Gallery, please call 985-8223.  For more information about Susan Bull Riley visit
