The South Burlington Community Chorus (SBCC) presented it’s Spring Concert, “The Golden Age of Broadway” on Saturday, June 9th in the South Burlington High School auditorium. The chorus was led by conductor Piero Bonamico in a program of Broadway favorites by George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, and Irving Berlin. Chorus members from South Burlington include

David Babbott, Leah Burke, Allison Cusson, Janet Dattilio, Mark Furnari, Bernice Harrington, Donna Jacobs, Richard Kujawa, Paula Lee, Linda McGinnis, Gabrielle Meunier, Deborah Noel, Nancy Richard, Art Rovner, Liz Semeniuk, Lawrence Smith, Rebecca Stazi, Tanya Stone, Olivia Tribble, Emily Wargo, Laura Waters, Joanna Watts, Marla Weiner, Diane Wessel.

The performance was very well attended and was especially enjoyed by the many Seniors from our area who came. Some of the many comments included “It’s so wonderful to see a younger generation who appreciates GOOD music!”and “I can’t believe I remembered almost every word!” There were several Solo performances by select Chorus Members, many of whom are South Burlington residents. They all did an outstanding job.

The South Burlington Community Chorus was founded in 1973. The SBCC is dedicated to providing a way for all interested individuals to sing in the chorus. There are no auditions to join the chorus and no requirement that singers live in South Burlington. The only requirement is the ability to match pitch and have fun! The SBCC strives to have funds available to help those with financial need participate as well.

Keep your eyes open for publicity regarding the SBCC Holiday Concert in December, as well as, the Second Annual SBCC Fundraiser scheduled for early November.
