School Article II - Approval of School Budget
The total proposed budget of $42,986,751 is the amount dtermined by the South Burlington School Board to be necessary to support the South Burlington School District’s educational program for the year beginning July 1st, 2013.
State law requires the vote on this budget to be divided because (i)the school district’s spending per pupil last year was more than the statewide average and (ii) this year’s proposed budget is greater than last year’s budget adjusted for inflation.
Passed. 2,128 (62.28%) vote YES.
Part A: Shall the voters of the South Burlington School District authorize the school board to expend $42,258,065, which is a portion of the amount the school board has determined to be necessary?
Passed. 1,880 (55.59%) vote YES.
Part B: If Part A is approved by the South Burlington School District voters, shall the voters of the South Burlington School District also authorize the school board to expend $728,686, which is the remainder of the amount the school board has determined to be necessary?
