As part of a program to build community connections, the UVM women’s lacrosse team partners with Chamberlin School. This is the second year of the partnership, which is organized by Michelle Soules, physical education teacher and Positive Behavior Intervention Support System coordinator at Chamberlin School. At a recent assembly, the UVM players modeled how they use the Chamberlin School expectations of Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe in their daily lives as college students and team members. After the assembly, students had the opportunity to meet individual players in their classrooms. Players will be back to visit classrooms in December, as part of this ongoing, community outreach. Students were thrilled to visit with Rally Cat, the school mascot, and see some of the “stick tricks” from the players!
