This year South Burlington resident Fayneese Miller, Dean of UVM’s College of Education and Social Services, will join other “community celebrity models” at the Visiting Nurse Association’s (VNA) popular Spring Blooms! Fashion Show and Luncheon Thursday, April 10, 2014.

The Spring Blooms! Fashion Show is the VNA Family Room’s largest annual fundraiser; 350 guests are expected to attend in support of the Janet S. Munt Family Room, the VNA’s Parent-Child Center housed in Burlington’s Old North End. Guests will enjoy a luncheon as “community celebrity models” show off spring and summer fashions from local clothiers including SportStyle, located in South Burlington. Miller is excited to model the vibrant spring colors she’s been admiring in store windows and even more excited to support the mission of the VNA Family Room.

“When I was asked to participate in the VNA Fashion Show, I felt humbled and honored to be part of an event that supports an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Vermont’s children and families. The important work of the VNA Family Room has an immediate and future impact on the social, intellectual, and economic well-being of the children and families they serve.”

For more than 25 years, the VNA Family Room has provided essential services and programs that support the community’s most vulnerable families. Resources and services are provided at no cost to families and their children from birth to age 6. Programs include parent support groups, a licensed preschool, and classes such as English as a Second Language, computer, cooking, and sewing.
