On January 23, 24, and 25th, hundreds of people packed into the Orchard School gym to watch a wonderful production of “Willy Wonka”, based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. The cast, chorus and crew were made up entirely of Orchard students. There were more than 170 students participating: 4thand 5th graders were in the cast and crew, and 2nd and 3rd graders were in the choruses. The students worked hard in rehearsals for 8 weeks prior to the shows, learning their lines, songs and dances. At the same time, the crew kids toiled over the props and set pieces for the show. As a result of all this effort, all 3 shows were a smashing success! This was the 13th year of the proud tradition of Orchard Drama. Don Wright and Ashley O’Brien of Very Merry Theatre, were the show’s director and music director, respectively. Over 125 parents volunteered in a variety of ways to support the show.
