Artists and SB residents Lynn Cummings, Kathy Hart, and Marni McKitrick each have several paintings in the upcoming Vermont Watercolor Society (VWS) Art Show at the Davis Center at UVM. Lynn is standing in front of her watercolor painting entitled “Oh Give Me a Home,” Kathy is in front of her watercolor painting entitled “Wisteria and Lilies,” and Marni is standing in front of her watercolor painting entitled “A River Runs Through It.” All are currently on display at the Davis Center.
The show represents a first for the Vermont Northwest Region of the VWS, which recently divided its membership of 240 into 8 regional hubs. The non-juried art show will display 35 watercolor paintings by 27 local artists, all members of the VWS. The watercolor paintings range in subject from colorful florals, panoramic landscapes, bold abstracts and delicate still lives.
The Vermont Watercolor Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1995. They are dedicated to promoting the appreciation of watercolor to its membership and the community by providing opportunities for participation, education, fellowship and exhibitions.
The art show began Tuesday, January 17 and will be open until Saturday, February 18 in the beautiful Livak Fireplace Lounge on the 4th floor of the Davis Center. Admission is free from 7 am to 11 pm seven days a week.
The public is invited to an Opening Reception on Friday, January 20th from 6-7 pm.
