“Flip the Record” is an award-winning 15 min. short film by Marie Jamora, a 1980s coming-of-age story set to pulsing hip-hop music — a Filipino-American teen discovers her identity through a budding talent for turntablism — and part of the LUNAFEST Film Festival of award-winning short films by, for, and about women.

LUNAFEST Film Festival is Friday, Mar. 8, 5:30 p.m., at Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center, Film House, 60 Lake St., Burlington.

Hosted by Vermont Works for Women, it is an evening of film, fun, and food in honor of International Women’s Day.

Did you know 43 percent of Vermont women who work full-time do not make enough to cover basic living expenses?

Want to flip the script? Your part is easy: watch a movie. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll raise money for girls and women across Vermont.
