Scrag Mountain Music’s 2018-19 season continues with a delightful program of music inspired by popular tales on Saturday, Feb. 9, 10 a.m., at Bread & Butter Farm, 200 Leduc Farm Rd.
Co-Artistic Directors Evan Premo (double bass) and Mary Bonhag (soprano), will be joined by the award-winning Aeolus Quartet and acclaimed Montpelier-based theater artist Kim Bent (narrator) for concerts that showcase how chamber music can bring our most memorable storybook fables to life.
Four dynamic pieces of music all inspired by stories will be featured. The centerpiece presentation is Jon Deak’s “The Ugly Duckling.” Also included in the program is James Balentine’s version of “Three Billy Goats Gruff.”
Bonhag states, “Presenting a concert programmed with kids in mind has been a dream of Scrag’s since its inception nine years ago. We are thrilled to offer three public programs that will be sure to take listeners on an exciting and unexpected musical journey.”
Concert is billed as “Come as you are. Pay what you can,” with at-will donations collected at intermission.
Securing your seats in advance at www.scragmountainmusic.org is encouraged as space is limited.
