Obama presidency

As part of their First Wednesday Series, the Vermont Humanities Council presents UVM Professor Emily Bernard, who discusses “We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy,” Ta-Nehisi Coates’s most recent reflections on race, the Obama presidency, and the election of Donald Trump.

Coates was a national correspondent for The Atlantic and is the author of the New York Times bestseller “Between the World and Me.”

Books available to read in advance or afterwards, but not required.

The event is Wednesday, Feb. 6, 7 p.m. at Brownell Library, 6 Lincoln Street, Essex Jct. Free. Open to the public.
