Capen Receives Flyin’ Ryan Adventure Scholarship

Devin Capen, SBHS junior, is congratulated by Peter Hawks, Ryan Hawks father and founder of the Flyin’ Ryan Foundation.

South Burlington High School junior Devin Capen was selected to receive the Flyin’ Ryan Foundation Adventure Scholarship. The Flyin’ Ryan Foundation was established in memory of extreme skier, Ryan Hawks, a South Burlington alumnus. The foundation seeks to extend the impact of Ryan’s 25 years of life by changing people’s lives and making the world a better place. By providing scholarships to deserving and passionate adventurers, the foundation aims to support and inspire individuals who demonstrate values consistent with those espoused by Ryan. With the awarding of this adventure scholarship, Devin intends to continue to pursue his passion for snowboarding through involvement with the Mount Mansfield Ski and Snowboard Club. Previously, Devin was an active participant in the Burton Snowboard Chill Program.
