U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) announced that his office will again organize six senior holiday dinners in December. The meals are an opportunity for seniors to come together, enjoy a holiday meal, and hear holiday music performed by local students. There will also be brief “town meeting” updates on senior issues. The free meals will be held in Burlington, Barre, Bennington, Brattleboro, Rutland, and St. Johnsbury.

The Burlington Senior Holiday Dinner is Sunday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m., at the Hilton Hotel, 60 Battery Street. Seating is limited, and RSVPs are required. Make the reservation by calling Sen. Sanders’ office toll free at 800-339-9834 or 802-862-0697.

The official reservation date for the Burlington meal is Dec. 5, but Sanders’ office will extend that date to Dec. 7, noting, “However, if by December 5 we are at capacity, we will unfortunately have to wait list people who RSVP’d on the 6th or 7th.”
