Veteran’s Memorial at Dorset Park - Update

I thought I would take the time to write another article to give the citizens of this community an up-date on the Veterans Committee’s efforts to build the Veteran’s Memorial at Dorset Park for which fund raising efforts are under way. As you may know, we are asking for donations from the citizens of this community . . . we have a long way to go in order for the Veteran’s Memorial to be built. Our goal is to start building this Veteran’s Memorial at Dorset Park a year from now if we have the funds available. This memorial will be a place of honor dedicated to all veterans of all wars of South Burlington and their families.

Here are some of the ways that we are fund raising. We have drop-boxes located at some of the business around the City of South Burlington. These boxes are located at Zachary’s Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Quiznos Subs, and Al’s French Fries all located on Williston Road.

There is also a drop-box at Hannford Supermarket on Dorset Street through the month of May only.

If you wish to make a larger donation, then please make your checks payable to the South Burlington Veteran’s Memorial Fund. Please mail your donation to the South Burlington Recreation Department, 575 Dorset Street, South Burlington, VT. 05403.

If you would like more information about the Veteran’s Memorial at Dorset Park, you may call the South Burlington Recreation Department at 846-4108 and we will send you our brochure about the Veteran’s Memorial.

The Veteran’s Committee will be very appreciative of any contributions our citizens are willing to make for this Veteran’s Memorial. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have already contributed to this memorial fund.

Thanking you advance for all you support.
