A New York man was arrested after allegedly using someone else’s identity. to withdraw money from a city bank.

On Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 2:38 p.m., South Burlington Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at Key Bank on Shelburne Road. The caller stated that a man was attempting to withdraw money from an account but was acting suspiciously.

Working with the South Burlington Detective Unit, police determined that the man was attempting to fraudulently withdraw money from an account using a counterfeit New York ID, Social Security card and debit card.

Police arrested Kenneth Sconfienza, 41, of the Bronx, N.Y., and charged him with identity theft.

Sconfienza was taken into custody and issued a citation to appear in court on Oct. 19.
