In the Aug. 22 edition of The Other Paper, a number I presented regarding housing costs in South Burlington was reversed. The number $145,000 for a large house should have read $415,000. Would that houses here cost $145,000 - then we would not have 71 percent of South Burlington employees living outside our city and 27 percent of our residents paying more than half of their income for housing alone. The Affordable Housing Committee could also consider its work successfully done. Instead, we are continuing to work on ways to make housing affordable in our city for both renters and buyers.
