The Water Quality Day tours were informative, interesting, and enlightening – a great opportunity for adults and teens to learn more about their community! It was invaluable to meet the staff behind the scenes, see what actually goes on, and learn about the latest projects and challenges. Are you aware that there are a couple tanks named Bill and Bob at Champlain Water District that help protect us from lead? Do you know that South Burlington is a leader with stormwater projects and collaborates with other towns in many ways? Do you know how highly scientific wastewater treatment is these days? I’d recommend all South Burlington residents take the time to tour the water filtration facility, the waste water plant, and then walk around to learn about some of the stormwater projects. A special thanks to Mike Barsotti and Jim Fay; Tom DiPietro, Emmalee Cherington and Justin Rabidoux, Bob Fischer, and the rest of the South Burlington staff for taking care of the basic things we often take for granted. Your expertise, knowledge, transparency, and overall friendly and welcoming demeanors are greatly appreciated in South Burlington!
